Since a couple of days, 10 young people from Japan, South Korea, Spain and France are living and working at the Laakenhof farm. Unfortunately, two people from Ukraine havend arrived so far…
Daily, the areas of application will be issued together with team leader Laura and Carla: one group will help harvesting at the olericulture, one group will join the small dairy cattle industry during miking the cows and producing cheese, another group will built up some wooden shelter for gardening tools together with Markus, some participants will be busy with brush and colour, and one group will prepare lunch together with Silke, often using recipes out of their different counties.
Before noon, the participants are busy with different works, in the afternoon, there is time for common exchange, games, visiting the intercultural garden of the “anders ackern e.V.” society in Neubeckum, a visit of Münster city is planned.
The international workcamp is organised by the https://www.icja.de/ society, which was founded about 70 years ago. “Our aim is to facilitate respectful and open interaction between people from different cultures and backgrounds. We understand our exchange programs as educational offers, which allow people to meet at eye level, to work together and to learn from each other.” ICJA’s main projects and programs focus on peace work, intercultural education and the promotion of active citizenship, global learning and social commitment.
Internationales Workcamp gestartet
Seit einigen Tagen leben und arbeiten 10 junge Menschen aus Japan, Südkorea, Spanien und Frankreich auf dem Laakenhof. Leider sind 2 Personen aus der Ukraine bisher nicht eingetroffen…
Täglich werden die Einsatzbereiche zusammen mit Teamleiterin Laura und Carla verteil: Eine Gruppe hilft im Gemüsebau bei der Ernte, eine Gruppe ist beim Melken und in der Käserei dabei, eine weitere Gruppe baut zusammen mit Markus einen hölzernen Unterstand für Gartengeräte, einige Wände werden gereinigt und frisch gestrichen, 3 Teilnehmer*innen bereiten mit Hilfe von Silke das Mittagessen vor, in der Regel nach landestypischen Rezepten.
Vormittags sind die Teilnehmer*innen mit den unterschiedlichen Arbeiten beschäftigt, nachmittags ist Zeit für gemeinsamen Austausch, Spiele, ein Besuch vom Interkulturellem Garten des Vereins anders ackern e.V. in Neubeckum, eine Fahrt nach Münster ist geplant.
Das Internationale Workcamp wird von dem Verein https://www.icja.de/ organisiert. ICJA Freiwilligenaustausch weltweit leistet durch internationale Begegnungen und interkulturelle Bildung praktische Friedensarbeit und fördert gesellschaftspolitisches Engagement. Seit über 70 Jahren setzen sich Menschen für den Verein ICJA ein. “Wir tun dies freiwillig und ehrenamtlich. Wir ermöglichen es jungen und älteren Deutschen ins Ausland zu gehen und dort in Projekten ehrenamtlich mitzuarbeiten. Genauso ermöglichen wir es Menschen aus aller Welt, das Gleiche in Deutschland zu tun.”
